See the U9 boys team in there first ever tournament
BU16 went to the finals in the So Cal Cup in Oceanside. They played up in
the U17 bracket and were scored on in the last kick of the final game
against the Vaqueros a physically strong team from San Diego. They also
played host to the Irvine Strikers Academy team last Saturday at Aliso
Viejo, and really enjoyed the competition. The game was very fast and
technically at a high level, it is the clubs intention to face the best
possible opposition and the ISC Academy team provided that. The team is in
preparation for the upcoming Copa Del Mar Tournament where they will face
competition from Nigeira and Canada, then off to England .
Manchester here we come!
A team of players and a delegation of parents from the BU16 and BU15 has been invited to participate in a preseason group of games in Salford, England. They will be leaving at the end of August for a ten day tour with games against English Academy teams from Wigan Athletic, Oldham Athletic and Stockport County. The team will also train at Manchester City in a 2 hour session with their Academy Staff. The team will be attending Manchester City vs Liverpool, Wigan vs Chelsea, a tour of Old Trafford and possibly two other games. Salfords coach Harry Hackett, was very impressed with the development at SC United over the last five years, and quickly included our boys in a preseason group of games. SC United plans to take two teams to Manchester every year. The soccer will be a very high level of play, coupled with the trans Atlantic trip and the cultural diversity, is another indication of SC United's commitment to developing not only the player, but the person.
Good Luck, safe journey, and wear the red and black with pride.
