Girls 11's
-Training will be in San Clemente year round
-All training sessions follow a professional development model, revolving around technique
-G/K coach is UEFA A licence Eric Macmanus
Success in soccer is comprised of three main elements- technique, fitness and attitude. Our training model at this age concentrates on all three :
Technique-each session revolves around plenty of touches on the ball, building confidence and ball mastery. Different types of touches are encouraged and an exciting environment is created, where our system of training creates high repitions, with lots of variety and lots of learning.
Each session progresses from the previous through a professional soccer development model designed by the club, taken from principles of Coerver, Horst Wein and the S.F.A
Fitness-all sessions are implemented at a high tempo, adding realism, improving concentration and fitness, the small sided games are fluent further encouraging sharpness and high levels of focus.
Attitude-coaches at this age should not only have the ability to demonstrate but also be patient, positive and a good role models. If the players we produce are to be confident and creative on the field, leaving each session/game with the enthusiasm to practice on their own, then the environment we create must foster these positive attitudes.
The role of our coaches
The aim of the development coach should be to get the players to the event happy (in a positive frame of mind), purposeful (knowing what the objectives are as individuals and a group) and ready to play (fit & healthy).
In our current climate soccer needs first class educators and technicians to work with young players to give them the details, reasons and overall education which will allow them to play at the highest level.
"Player development looks at things from the players' point of view, not the adults. What are the needs of the youngster? When the youngsters start to relax, smile and laugh you know you are truly winning because the environment is right.
This does not mean they will not be focused in training, strive to win their matches or be disappointed when they lose, but it does mean that you know how to manage their success and disappointment to their advantage and that they are free of fear and ready to LEARN."
